Sustainable Finance Disclosures for Financial Sector Authorities

Sustainable Finance is becoming an increasingly important form of finance for Africa, and a key to anchoring in this form of finance effectively is understanding related disclosures and standards.

This presentation unpacks how the intersection of innovation, fintech and sustainable finance reporting and disclosure standards are creating an interesting future of supervision and regulation for financial sector authorities. It explores dynamics informing the rise of sustainable finance in Africa; how sustainable finance disclosures intersect with African finance systems and economies; three levers that inform sustainable finance disclosure development; and presents ideas on how to manage the evolution of sustainable finance disclosure constructively.

This presentation was made by Anzetse Were at the Green Finance: Climate Change and Financial Regulation and Supervision Summit 2022 organised by Digital Frontiers Institute, CGAP, and the Toronto Centre.
