Development Economist

Anzetse Were is a development economist with over a decade of experience in economic research, advising and strategy in Africa. She is sought after as an economic advisor and strategist by international development finance institutions, the private sector, donors, think tanks, and diplomatic missions as they navigate the complex realities of African economies. She sits on several Boards in the corporate and non-profit sectors.

She is widely authored with articles, papers and reports in international media outlets, business magazines and development periodicals. She is regularly invited to speak on African economies and has delivered several keynote speeches.

Anzetse has a Master’s in Economics from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor’s degree from Brown University.
