Development Economist

Anzetse Were is a development economist with over 15 years of experience and expertise in macroeconomics and public policy; geopolitical advisory; green finance and carbon markets; ethical innovation; and women and work.

 

She advises African and foreign governments, multilateral organisations, development actors and the private sector on sustainable capital allocation, economic development strategies, and public policy. Her expertise is sought after to provide clarity on how to navigate the complex realities of African economies. 

Anzetse is a recognised global thought leader, keynote speaker and board member. She is widely authored with articles, papers and reports published in international media outlets, business magazines and development periodicals.

 

She has a Master’s in Economics from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor’s degree from Brown University.
