Kenya Carbon Markets Conference

Anzetse Were speaks at the inaugural Kenya Carbon Markets Conference organised by The Office of the Special Climate Envoy in the Executive Office of the President of Kenya. The panel focused on Carbon Pricing and The EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism.

She provided insight on the factors African governments are balancing as they consider different approaches to carbon pricing in the context of both voluntary and compliance carbon markets.


She also outlined factors that African governments continue to address to ensure carbon markets contribute to national development priorities such as increasing preparedness, improving internal coordination and taking steps towards sectoral alignment with priorities such as green industrialisation.
